There. I've said it. Incorporate a fruit bowl into your life. I am going to repeat this message a few times this blog post. It's also the core message, so if you think you're set, feel free to click away. For those who feel like they need a bit more background, a juicy piece of text, if you will, feel free to keep on reading. I am going to tell you why I think everybody in the world should have access to unlimited fruit. Unlimited fruit? Yes! Everybody should be able to eat as much fruit as … [Read more...] about Incorporate a fruit bowl into your life
I want to make a portrait for somebody I know from therapy. However, I am facing a problem I cannot overcome right now. I'll get to the problem in a second. First, I want you to meet this woman. I met this woman at therapy two weeks ago. She is in her sixties, she is two heads shorter than I am and she talks a lot. She brings a lot of good energy to the table in my opinion. Whenever she is asked a question, she will answer it as fast as possible and then continue to talk about the people she … [Read more...] about Not enough
Two days ago, I went to a party at a cafe in Utrecht. I drank a million sambuca's. The day after, I went to another party. Needlessly to say, I was hungover. Although I can now still feel my body repairing itself, it's going a lot better than it used to. Maybe this is time working its magic, maybe it's the fact that I ate some bananas very slowly and drank some orange juice. Since I bought them at a Kiosk, they were more costly than when I'd have bought them in bulk, but I knew from the start … [Read more...] about Two Day Hangover and a Cure
When you have your own site, you can post what you want. That's ultimate creative freedom right there. I can post about being enthousiastic about cleaning my room, because I am. When there's nobody around. Because with a laptop with internet, you don't have to be alone. Somebody might read this back, and wonder what kind of person I am. To me, this is living. I am living on 8 square meters and I'm working on a webshop, cleaning my room and listening to the radio. There is the news that … [Read more...] about A Lot of Energy
I've had 8 apples and 2 bananas today. I'm kind of very energetic. I also had creative therapy. For me, being creative is what life is about. It's about letting go that insecure part of yourself that says "I can't do it!". It's about making contact. Making contact with the crayon, or whatever material you're working with, and with the paper, or whatever grounds you're using. It's about focusing on those moments of contact. Where do I go from here? What is the image that I have in … [Read more...] about Creative Therapy On Fruit
I've applied for a job today. It's a job serving coffee in a building that's shared by the local library, the local archives and a local inkt pressing (?) workshop. I'm pretty stoked, even though I don't know if they'll take me - there are more applicants. But the talk went very well, I was able to be myself and that's what matters. But the company I've applied for also hosts a small movie festival, a stand-up comedy show and some catering services. So that's a new, fun environment to be … [Read more...] about Applying For a Job
Somebody asked me today if I am addicted to certain substances. That's a kind of a personal question. Not many people would answer that honestly, I think. Addiction is a hard topic to talk about and there are a lot of things you can be addicted to. I, for one, think people can be addicted to make-up. What's the point of wearing make-up, anyway? You're literally putting on a mask. True beauty comes from the inside and shows off to the outside. It's hard to mask it well if you're insecure about … [Read more...] about Am I Addicted?
I've helped up clean up a friends room today. And one of the things I thought was: Wow, look at the interior of his room! He's living it! It's not so much about being jealous of his decorating style choices. It's more about missing something in my own room that makes it feel homely. My room's stuffed with moving boxes and painting material. There's not much space to move around. But I know that if I move around some stuff and do my best, I can achieve the level of homeliness that my friends room … [Read more...] about Salmon-Spinach Pasta Recipe
...And I feel good. I'm sitting in my backyard, eating it and having a beer. It's winter, but I have my coat on. I like sitting in the fresh air more than I like sitting inside. Well, it depends on the circumstances. Being nuanced is important. If you think in extremes, or in black and white, you're prone to make thinking mistakes. There are so many things happening in the world that you can't really think in black and white. There are so many colors to choose from! When I was teaching at a … [Read more...] about I’m on My Sixth Kiwi for the Day…
Think about your morning this morning. How did you feel when you woke up? Did you have trouble waking up? Or is waking up easy to you? I hear a lot of people say: Oh man, I can't get up every morning. Waking up is the hardest thing EVER! Why do they say that? Is it because they have no motivation to get up? Is it because their work lives are boring? Those might be some reasons. But everybody wants to make the most of their day, so how come? Any work you do can be interesting, it just takes a … [Read more...] about Why eating 5 – 7 pieces of fruit is something you should do every morning.
