Today, I had an exam in Utrecht.
But I missed it. The trains didn’t ride.
So I decided to work on my blog and go to the city centre in Gouda.
I bought some grapefruit juice, my favourite drink, and walked to the market.
As I was walking, I heard someone shout “That drink is better with vodka!”. I looked around and saw two girls sitting in front of an ice cream store.
I walked over and saw that these two girls were girls I know.
I know them from the So What, a small society club in Gouda where I go to dance.
I sat with them and we talked and socialized a bit.
It’s important to cultivate your network. Even if you aren’t good friends with someone yet, someday you might be.
But you have got to put in the effort.
Making friends doesn’t have to cost much. Just time and effort and honesty are enough.
I will go to the place one of these girls work and get her number so we can have a coffee.
I once spoke with a friend who rarely bought items for himself. Every time he needs something he asks his Facebook friends.
Because he’s an honest guy and cares for the items he borrows, people lend everything to him.
He has a lot of moolah to go on holidays. He’s living the good life.
I, too, want the good life so I make a point of it to socialize. Your happiness is dependant on the happiness of the people around you.
Until next time.
