Today, I was walking in the city centre. As I walked on the Kleiweg, Gouda’s main shopping street, I saw a man look at me.
This man asked if I had some time. I had, even though I already knew what he was going to get at. I was prepared for a conversation about the spiritual.
He asked me if I believed in God. I said I did. He introduced a new church in Gouda, where the main focus is to eat together and have spiritual conversations.
Now this man had faith in his eyes. Determination. Also a kind of open friendliness, that spirit that you see in most children before they become corrupted by egoism.
The faith was strong in these people. You could feel it from a mile away.
They were very friendly, too. Open to an honest conversation. That made it easy for me to be honest about myself.
You need faith to achieve something in life. Whether that’s a spiritual higherness, worldy posessions, or an academic career: You have to believe you can do it to make it work.
When you believe a world opens up to you. You will take a deterministic, fullhardy stance on life that is hard to argue with.
Have you ever met a salesman who was so good that, even when you said no at first, you bought the product anyway?
Let me tell you a secret: It has nothing to do with people skills. It has nothing to do with subtlety. It has everything to do with faith.
This salesman believed in the product so much that he knew that he was going to sell it to you. He in his head already closed the deal before he rang your doorbell.
You can use this faith to get customers, followers or friends. Whatever you can think of, you can get it. There are no limitations.
But if you don’t believe in yourself, or don’t believe in a higher power for that matter, you probablfy won’t get far.
You’ll stray off the chosen path. On the verge of accomplishing something, you will switch to another task at hand and leave opportunity behind you. Then you have to take a new path, and start all over again.
That’s why it’s so important to believe. To distribute goodness and utility and truth onto the world.
Priests have always told me to believe, but they never told me what the steps are that you need to take to start believing something.
I will tell you the steps. They’re really easy. All you need is a daily commitment of 2 minutes.
See, what you fix in your subconscious mind is what you believe. The thoughts that you repeat to yourself come true because you start to act on them. You make your thoughts a reality.
This is why people who think they are poor stay poor. They repeat to themself “Shit, I’m broke, there’s no way I can get out of this hellhole”. If they knew that they could change their situation by thinking differently, they might see opportunities to get rich.
The steps to start believing something is onefold:
Repeat to yourself your desire four times a day, twice when you wake up and twice when you go to bed.
After doing this for a while, you will obtain a burning desire for your goal, whether that’s worldy or spiritual.
Before you potentially make a mistake, you will stop yourself right in your tracks. You will think about your desire, or what you believe, and prevent yourself from making the mistake.
After you’ve had a success, you will reflect on your desire and notice that you’re coming a step closer to your goal.
This is the step to believing. I do this myself daily, and I feel very determined in what I want.
The street preacher even told me I radiate calmness, and that’s because I know what I want and I know I’m going to get it, sooner or later.
It pays to have faith. Start believing in something.
Alright, until next time.
